CCPI Awarded Four-Year Grant to Study Child Care Assistance, Eligibility, & Access

The CCPI early childhood team has been awarded a four-year research grant from the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation. CCPI is part of a cohort of 11 grantees from around the country who are studying different aspects of the child care assistance program and how it works for families. The New Mexico team, in partnership with state officials at the Early Childhood Education and Care Department and the Governor’s Children’s Cabinet, are studying barriers, policies, and best practices for families around becoming eligible for child care assistance, enrolling in the program, and staying enrolled. The project will use quantitative analysis of administrative data, surveys and interviews, and will continue through 2023.
