Elisabeth Baker
Graduate Research Assistant
Elisabeth is a PhD candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her area of concentration is Hispanic Linguistics, and her research examines child language acquisition with a focus on the acquisition of complex forms in Spanish. Elisabeth has been working as a bilingual research assistant at the Cradle to Career Policy Institute (CCPI) since January 2022. As part of the team, she works on projects related to barriers and access to child care in New Mexico, conducting phone interviews with participants, and coding and analyzing data, among other tasks. Elisabeth also holds a dual BA in Journalism and Spanish from the University of Wyoming and an MA in Interpreting and Translation Studies from Wake Forest University.
